How the room works
The floor
One voice at a time. While they are on, their URL, line, and clock are the whole page. When the clock hits zero, they leave. If someone is waiting, that person walks on. If not — dead air.
Airtime
$1 buys thirty seconds. $10 buys five minutes. Whole dollars only. You may leave a voice note — up to thirty seconds — that the room can hear while you have the floor. You are paying for a turn, not a place on a list.
The wings
If the floor is taken, your money buys a place in line. First in, first on. Six people at most. After that the wings are full — cut in, or wait for a gap.
Cut in
From $4, you take the floor immediately. The person who was speaking goes to the front of the wings with their remaining time saved. They are interrupted, not erased.
The crowd
- Encore, $1 — add thirty seconds, capped at five minutes.
- Heckle, $1 — cut thirty seconds. Enough heckles yank them off.
- Visit sends them a glance. The number is public.
Paying
Turns are Stripe Checkout. Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, and cards show when the device supports them. The floor does not change until payment clears. Enable wallets in your Stripe dashboard under Payment methods, and set STRIPE_SECRET_KEY on the app. Optional: STRIPE_WEBHOOK_SECRET pointing at /api/stripe/webhook.
What you cannot do
You cannot own the room. You cannot sit at #1 overnight. There is no #1. When your seconds are gone, the quiet comes back.
